About me

My name is Alice and I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2017. I have a degree in History of Art, and I also have A-A* school qualifications in English Literature, Art, French and Classical Civilisation. I am a native English speaker with a good level of French. I have experience tutoring children aged 10-11 in Latin and classical subjects, using storytelling and visual aids. When teaching, I believe it’s necessary to design short informal lessons that are engaging and efficient.
In addition, I also have two years experience of working with children aged 7 to 12 as a nanny, helping with homework and engaging in creative play. I am a patient and sensitive teacher of all subjects, and enjoy helping children develop lateral thinking and improve their verbal reasoning. My experience as a care-giver for children enables me to understand that creativity is fundamental to a child’s development, not just intellectually but also emotionally. I find that using educational games and personal expression together is key in building a child’s confidence and gives them tools for life.
Aside from childcare, I also freelance as a costume designer and maker in the film and television industries. Using imagination and practical skills have been key for me and my career, so too for your child.
Hope to see you in my classes!
