About me

I am a Durham University graduate, having achieved a First Class Honours in Biological Sciences. Prior to this, I achieved four A*s in A level Biology, Chemistry, French, and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). I received the highest marks in my year for various modules during my undergraduate degree and my high grades across all my A level and GCSE subjects meant I received a County Scholar award for outstanding achievement in the County of Norfolk, England. I am looking forward to returning to Durham University to start a PhD in Molecular Microbiology which I was awarded through a highly competitive process involving academic and industrial sponsors and thus will be funded by Proctor and Gamble. I have over 6 years’ experience of tutoring both Biology and Chemistry from GCSE to A level and have seen all of my students go on to succeed their goals and score highly in exams. Having recently been a student in full-time education, I can appreciate the importance of an engaging and passionate teacher in the ability for a student to achieve, and therefore I actively strive to fulfil this role. Furthermore, I have found that a blended approach where the tutor and student work together is the most successful and therefore, all sessions involve a collaborative effort to overcome difficulties and succeed.
