BA English

About me

Hi! My name is Ben, and I’m from Hertfordshire. I am an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor for humanities subjects, and I would love to help you improve your grades and skills!

I graduated from Cambridge University with a BA in English. I attended Eton College for secondary school, where I achieved 11 A*s at GCSE and 3 D2s in my Pre-U exams (equivalent to A* at A Level) in English, History and Spanish.

I have extensive experience working with and coaching young people, both through tutoring and facilitating theatre projects. In my last two years at secondary school I supervised revision sessions for the Year 9s, and I worked alongside a teacher to assistant-direct our House Play, performed by the younger boys. I directed my own projects at both school and university, which involved taking on the responsibility of auditioning, casting and guiding fellow students through the process of putting on a play. I have also worked as an associate director at award-winning youth theatre ‘Kidz R Us’. I therefore know how to encourage and nurture young people, and I am a firm believer that creating a positive, fun environment for learning is the best way to get good results.

I enjoy tutoring English and History because it means getting to teach fantastic resources and material. I will be an enthusiastic, meticulous and responsible tutor who teaches to your exact needs - I know that different exams require a different approach! We will talk through your specific aims and challenges up-front, so we won’t waste any time on things you don’t need to work on.

I’m excited to help you achieve your goals. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
