About me
I am an intelligent, friendly and creative individual that will bring enthusiasm to every lesson. I have just completed my postgraduate degree in Human Evolution at the University of Cambridge.
I have gained a huge range of teaching experience over the past few years. For example, last summer I was an English and Science tutor on the Oxbridge Summer Camps Abroad program, teaching approximately 300 students over the course of 6 weeks in Hong Kong. I have also been a personal tutor teaching Maths and English for year 6 primary school students over the last 3 years. I am a qualified level 3 Austrian Ski instructor and have taught students aged 4 to 14, this experience taught me invaluable skills of leadership, approachability and empathy. Crucially, I learnt how important it is for a teacher to be relatable to different kinds of personalities and characters. This requires a creative edge, which I certainly have.
At school, I led a debating club and was the founder of a conservation society. I was also awarded the Dr Roth’s Prize for Biology at School for showing enthusiasm and high academic aptitude. I love inspiring younger students to want to learn more about nature and biology. I volunteered at the Natural History Museum, which involved talking to visitors about the butterfly house and the herbarium. I also did an internship for the Galapagos Conservation Trust, where I wrote educational blogs to summarise the latest scientific findings across the islands.
I believe that my genuine enthusiasm for teaching will encourage and inspire students to try hard in their academic and personal development.
