BA Mathematics

About me

Hello, I'm Sarah and I graduated in 2021 with a BA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. Before this I achieved 4 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry A Levels from a sixth form in Essex, UK. I tutored and mentored A Level students during my degree and I hope to continue to offer academic tutoring to students aged 11-18. I have my own experience of admissions into university for Maths (including STEP exams) but I have also been guiding Year 12 and Year 13 students through the process for a couple of years.

My approach to this, and to any academic tutoring, has been to build confidence in their mathematical and scientific abilities, challenge them with hard problems, and expand their knowledge of the subject by introducing higher level concepts (teaching undergraduate concepts to A Level students, A Level concepts to GCSE students etc). This, I feel, not only improves their academic ability but also fuels their enthusiasm for STEM subjects. I aim to create a wholly constructive classroom environment so that even the least confident of students feel comfortable enough to learn from the very first lesson.
